Digester Decanter (DD)
The reactor consists of two compartments: decanter and clarifier. In the first one the decantation of the solid particles in the bottom takes place. The lighter particles, such as fats and oils, ascend to the top forming a floating layer.
Both the solid matter of the bottom and the floating ones undergo a fermentation process that transforms them into simpler products, soluble in water, reducing the amount of mud. In the second compartment a second settling is carried out to clarify the water.
CLEANER MAINTENANCE:
At least once a year the bottom sludge and the decanter-digester fats should be removed.
